International Commission
As part of the National Academy of Medicine鈥檚 Global Roadmap for Healthy Longevity, an International Commission that includes stakeholders and representatives from key participating聽institutions worldwide worked together to perform an assessment of the existing and projected risks, challenges, and opportunities聽presented by global aging.
This Commission recommended global priorities and actions to be addressed by 2030聽to optimize the health, function, and well-being of all people into later life. The Commission is聽geographically/demographically diverse and consists of eminent individuals from both the public and聽private sectors with expertise in gerontology and geriatrics, demography, the social determinants of health,聽behavioral health, built environments, business and workforce, economics, health care delivery and financing,聽biomedical science and technology, and health and finance policy, among others.
Many of the Commissioners聽were 鈥渄ual-hatted鈥 as members of the 鈥渨orkstream teams鈥 (or workshop planning committees). The聽Commission worked across the workstream teams to define the workshop tasks, agendas, and workshop speakers.
